These photographs come from ordinary places, that could exist almost anywhere. They are spaces I know well, yet I often feel slightly outside of them, as if I’m standing just beyond the point of connection. Each image reflects that in-between state, where the familiar starts to feel uncertain and where time seems to briefly stand still.
This work is an effort to visualize that tension; what it means to belong and what it feels like not to. My artistic practice is a reflection of my interest in how physical and emotional spaces shape our sense of self, and how photographs can can both reveal and conceal those boundaries. My figure becomes a marker of that experience; present but unsettled, navigating spaces that never feel fully my own.
(a)part isn’t about specific locations, or even about my place in them. It is about a state of being both a part of and apart from. You are invited to linger in that space of ambiguity, where everyday moments hold both recognition and mystery, a place that is ordinary, but can quietly become something more.
